The evening session of Day 7 at the Asian Boxing U15 and U17 Championships concluded with powerful performances across the heaviest weight classes, where strength, strategy, and stamina were on full display in both the boys’ and girls’ divisions.
The crowd at the Sports Palace witnessed a string of intense contests across the 75kg, 80kg, and +80kg categories in the U17 boys’ division. Mongolia’s Tamir Davaajav opened the session by outboxing Kyrgyzstan’s Abdygany Mukhammediminov in a clean decision, while Uzbekistan’s Khurshidbek Juraev stunned India’s Priyansh Sehrawat with a dominant 5:0 display.
Ukraine’s Kiril Bondarenko cruised to victory against Jordanian hopeful Ezz Aldeen Almatbouli, while Kazakhstan’s Sanzhar Matassov forced a referee stoppage in the final round to overcome Cheng-Jun Hu of Chinese Taipei in the 75kg class.
In the 80kg division, India’s Devansh Devansh delivered a late stoppage win over Jordan’s Abdallah Aldabbas, while Ukraine’s Dmytro Kasianenko edged Asadbek Sultanboev of Uzbekistan in a 4:1 split. Kazakhstan’s Mukhamedali Rustembek breezed past Kyrgyzstan’s Dmitri Ropa with a commanding performance.
The super heavyweight action didn’t disappoint. Iran’s Farhoud Ghorbani outpointed India’s Loven Gulia, while Iraq’s Zuber Othman impressed with a clean-sweep win over Daniyal Myrzaev of Kyrgyzstan. Oleksandr Khomenko (UKR) continued his country’s strong form by defeating Rinat Yerboluly (KAZ), and Uzbekistan’s Artur Kenesbaev was flawless in his decision win over Jordan’s Omar Issa.
The girls’ events brought fireworks in the upper weight divisions. Kazakhstan’s Dilyara Tursynbek overwhelmed Jordan’s Saden Alawjei, winning by RSC in Round 1, and Ukraine’s Kseniia Kotsohub mirrored that with her own stoppage win against Vietnam’s Do Hong Hoa in the 66kg class.
In the 70kg bouts, Uzbekistan’s Ulbosin Djalgasbaeva forced a stoppage over Cheng-Hui Zou of Taiwan in the second round, and India’s Himanshi Himanshi made short work of Palestine’s Farah Abou Layla, securing an RSC win in the opening round.
Closing out the session was a thrilling +80kg contest between Kazakhstan’s Elnura Kongyrat and Ukraine’s Sofiia Opaliukh, with Kongyrat narrowly claiming a 3:2 victory in one of the evening’s most closely contested bouts.
As the final stages of the Championships approach, the action only intensifies. The Asian Boxing U15 and U17 Championships continue tomorrow with more semifinal clashes and the region’s top youth athletes vying for continental glory.
