U17 Finalists Confirmed After Intense Battles in Day 9 Evening Session at Asian Boxing Championships

The evening session of Day 9 at the Asian Boxing U15 and U17 Championships in Amman brought a dramatic close to the semifinal stages, with fierce contests across the boys’ and girls’ categories. The winners from this session have now secured their spots in the U17 Finals, set for April 30, 2025, at 2:00 PM local time.

The boys’ semifinals delivered intense performances across the heavier weight divisions. In the 60kg class, Amirali Mehrabi (IRI) and Abrorbek Sharipov (UZB) each claimed important victories, setting up an exciting final showdown. Saidkhuja Sadillakhujaev (UZB) and Navid Rezaei (IRI) advanced from the 63kg semifinals with commanding 5:0 wins.

The 66kg category saw Kunimitsu Honjo (JPN) edge a tight split decision over Kazakhstan’s Daniyal Shalkarbay, while Aziretkhan Mairanbekov (KGZ) dominated Ukraine’s Dalintin Lukianenko with a clean sweep.

At 70kg, Amirmahdi Ezzati Hajibaba (IRI) and Diyorbek Murodilloev (UZB) moved into the finals with strong, unanimous wins. In the 75kg class, Khurshidbek Juraev (UZB) and Sanzhar Matassov (KAZ) secured clear victories.

The 80kg semifinals featured outstanding efforts from Devansh Devansh (IND) and Mukhamedali Rustembek (KAZ), who both advanced with solid points victories. In the super heavyweight (+80kg) category, Farhoud Ghorbani (IRI) defeated Iraq’s Zuber Othman, while Oleksandr Khomenko (UKR) beat Uzbekistan’s Artur Kenesbaev to claim a place in the final.

The girls’ bouts featured equally impressive displays of strength and strategy. Harsika Harsika (IND) and Ayaulym Ospanova (KAZ) advanced from the 63kg semifinals, with Ospanova winning by RSC stoppage in the first round.

In the 66kg division, Dilyara Tursynbek (KAZ) delivered a strong performance against India’s Prachi, while Kseniia Kotsohub (UKR) earned a clean victory over Thailand’s Nannaphat Mungpingklang.

At 70kg, Ulbosin Djalgasbaeva (UZB) and Himanshi Himanshi (IND) claimed decisive wins to reach the gold medal matches. The 75kg category saw Samira Turgunova (UZB) and Diana Nadyrbek (KAZ) each advance after strong victories.

In the 80kg contests, Fariza Tazhibaieva (KAZ) overcame India’s Prachi Khatri in a close 4:1 decision, while Mavjuda Abdusaidova (UZB) defeated Ukraine’s Diana Polishchuk.

The evening closed with dominant performances in the +80kg division, where Anshika Anshika (IND) defeated Kazakhstan’s Elnura Kongyrat by unanimous decision, and Jana Alalawneh (JOR) secured a first-round stoppage victory over Uzbekistan’s Sohibakhon Khudoyberdieva.

The stage is now fully set for the U17 Finals, where Asia’s brightest young boxers will battle for continental supremacy on April 30.
