U17 Finalists Emerge from Thrilling Afternoon Semifinals at Asian Boxing Championships

The afternoon session of Day 9 at the Asian Boxing U15 and U17 Championships produced an electrifying series of semifinal bouts, with the region’s top young athletes delivering outstanding performances to secure their places in the finals.

The action-packed session at the Sports Palace in Amman featured boys and girls across multiple weight categories. All winners from this session have advanced to the highly anticipated U17 Finals, scheduled for April 30 at 2:00 PM local time.

In the boys’ divisions, Kazakhstan’s Nurmakhan Zhumagali and Ukraine’s Mykhailo Sydorenko emerged victorious in the 44-46kg category. At 48kg, Zobeir Eisazehi (IRI) overcame India’s Ambekar Meetei Lairenlakpam, while Habibulla Saynazarov (UZB) defeated Kazakhstan’s Rustem Saparkhan with a dominant 5:0 decision.

At 50kg, Khalif Rassul (KAZ) and Serhii Artemenko (UKR) both posted convincing wins to move into the finals. In the 52kg semifinals, Jordan’s Motaz Almashaleh delivered a sensational 5:0 victory over Uzbekistan’s Asadbek Esonboev, while Temirali Temirbayev (KAZ) outclassed India’s Tikam Singh.

The 54kg contests saw Doszhan Zhumakan (KAZ) and Bobomurod Boymirzaev (UZB) ease past their opponents. In the 57kg category, Zubair Akramov (KGZ) and Asilbek Abdukadirov (UZB) confirmed their finals spots with strong performances.

The girls’ semifinals were equally competitive. Khushi Chand (IND) edged a close contest against Ukraine’s Oleksandra Cherevata at 44-46kg, while Altanzul Altangadas (MGL) defeated Kazakhstan’s Shugyla Zharas with a unanimous decision.

In the 48kg semifinals, Nazokat Mardonova (UZB) battled past India’s Jiya Jiya in a 3:2 thriller, while Yui Hatakeyama (JPN) impressed against Kazakhstan’s Lashyn Dauletzhan.

At 50kg, Ahaana Sharma (IND) scored an emphatic first-round knockout against Akmaral Amantaieva (KGZ), and Shodiyona Melikuzieva (UZB) secured a strong points victory over Vietnam’s Nguyen Thi Anh Thi Hua.

The 52kg matches featured tactical battles, with Maral Tolepbergen (KAZ) defeating Uzbekistan’s Kumniniso Muhammadova and Daria Liahotska (UKR) overcoming Japan’s Runa Ito.

In the 54kg category, Sabrina Chakomanova (UZB) and Jannat Jannat (IND) both delivered dominant 5:0 victories to reach the gold medal matches.

At 57kg, Viktoria Rosetska (UKR) outpointed Kazakhstan’s Indira Kydyrmoldaeva, while Farzuna Ruzieva (UZB) overcame Shirin Tursalieva (KGZ) with a clean sweep.

Finally, in the 60kg weight class, Simranjeet Kaur (IND) and Rushanabonu Isoeva (UZB) secured their places in the final with decisive wins.
