Asian Boxers Excel as Day 6 Delivers High-Level Action in Bangkok

Day 6 of the Thailand Open International Boxing Tournament 2025 featured two intense sessions of competition, with Asian boxers continuing to demonstrate their dominance across both the men’s and women’s brackets.

In the afternoon session (Session 11), Uzbekistan’s Farzona Fozilova continued her impressive run in the women’s light flyweight division, defeating Ukraine’s Olha Shalimova by unanimous decision. Thailand’s Thipsatcha Yodwaree also advanced in the same weight class with a sharp 4:1 win over Singapore’s Danisha Mathialagan.

There was mixed fortune for Thailand and Uzbekistan in the women’s bantamweight category, as Natnicha Chongprongklang (THA) outpointed China’s Cao Wanqi, while Feruza Kazakova (UZB) advanced following the disqualification of Apisada Tantawa (THB) in round two. Thailand’s Thananya Somnuek later delivered one of the day’s most decisive victories, stopping Ukraine’s Yuliia Filippova in the third round of their welterweight contest.

In the men’s bantamweight class, Faryozbek Dusmatov (UZB) secured a commanding 5:0 decision over Islam Torobaev (KGZ), and Sarawut Sukthet (THA) edged Kazakhstan’s Nursultan Altynbek in a 4:1 contest. China’s Han Xuezhen outpointed Kazakhstan’s Daniyar Rakhimberdinov in the men’s heavyweights, while Juraboev Elyorbek (UZB) narrowly lost to India’s Naman Tanwar with a 4:1 result.

The evening session (Session 12) featured strong performances from regional stars, particularly in the women’s divisions. Sabina Bobokulova (UZB) delivered a flawless 5:0 win over Ukraine’s Yaroslava Marynchuk in the flyweight semifinals. In the same category, Wu Yu (CHN) outboxed India’s Tamanna to advance to the final.

Kazakhstan’s Viktoriya Grafeyeva and China’s Yang Chengyu secured clear victories in the lightweight division, while Wang Xiaomeng (CHN) and Gulsaya Yerzhan (KAZ) advanced in the women’s light heavyweight class.

In the men’s welterweight bouts, Thailand’s Khunatip Pidnuch maintained his unbeaten run with a dominant performance over the Philippines’ Mark Ashley Fajardo, while Bunjong Sinsiri (THB) delivered a technical masterclass to defeat Dulat Bekbauov (KAZ).

The super heavyweight clashes closed the day with high intensity. India’s Anshul Gill edged out Uzbekistan’s Rustamov Abdurakhmon in a tightly contested 3:2 bout, and Andrii Khaletskyi (UKR) wrapped up the session with a unanimous decision over Jordan’s Razi Alhaysat.

With only days remaining, the competition continues to highlight the strength and depth of talent emerging from across Asia, setting the stage for thrilling final rounds.
