Bhutan Finalizes Team for Asian Boxing U19 and U22 Boxing Championships in Bangkok

Bhutan has announced its team for the upcoming Asian Boxing U19 and U22 Boxing Championships, set to take place from July 30 to August 12, 2025, in Bangkok, Thailand. The squad features six athletes across both age categories, led by an experienced support team.
Sonam Penjor has been appointed Team Manager, with Girchungla Girchungla serving as Head Coach.
The athletes selected are:
U19 Division:
Jampel Chedrup – Men’s 47–50kg
Zigdal Zangmo – Women’s 51kg
U22 Division:
Kinley Phuntsho – Men’s 47–50kg
Tashi Yoezer – Men’s 55kg
Dechen Dorji – Men’s 60kg
Kinley Kinley – Men’s 65kg
The team has been training in preparation for the Asian Boxing U19 and U22 Boxing Championships, which will feature nearly 400 athletes from 26 countries. Organized under the governance of World Boxing, and hosted in partnership with the Thailand Boxing Association, the Championships are a key fixture on the continental calendar for emerging boxing talent.
