In the evening session, attention turned to the U22 women’s quarterfinals, where 16 bouts were contested across the light flyweight, flyweight, bantamweight, and featherweight categories.
Uzbekistan’s women continued their dominance with quarterfinal victories by Robiyakhon Bakhtiyorova, Gulsevar Ganieva, Uzukjamol Yunusova, and Khumorabonu Mamajonova, the latter earning a stoppage in round two. Vietnam’s Thi To Nhu Tran continued her strong run in the bantamweight division with a first-round RSC win, while India’s Bhawna Sharma and Yatri Shirishkumar Patel, Chinese Taipei’s Chih-Lin Chiu, and Thailand’s Natnicha Chongprongklang each moved confidently into the medal rounds.
In the featherweight class, Miqi Wang (CHN), Thi Nhung Quang (VIE), and Khumorabonu Mamajonova (UZB) all advanced with clinical performances, setting up highly anticipated semifinal matchups in the coming days.
