ASIAN BOXING U19 SEMIFINALS SHOWCASE INTENSE BATTLES IN BANGKOK

The Asian Boxing U19 semifinals delivered a thrilling day of semifinal action, with two sessions of elite competition showcasing Asia’s brightest young talents across 38 bouts at the Indoor Stadium Huamark.
The morning session featured the Women’s Semifinals, where boxers from Uzbekistan, India, China, Kazakhstan, Japan, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam secured their spots in the finals. Highlights included Uzbekistan’s Maftuna Musurmonova (48kg) and Rayhona Kurbonboeva (70kg) advancing in dominant style, India’s Aarti Kumari (75kg) winning by referee stoppage, and China’s Shu Liu (51kg) and Abudureyimu Alimire (70kg) claiming convincing victories.
The evening session turned the spotlight to the Men’s Semifinals, delivering fierce contests in every weight class. Thailand’s Kiattisak Sukkwee (50kg) and Kangpi Bokhunthod (55kg) thrilled the home crowd with decisive wins, while Kazakhstan’s Tortubek Adilet (60kg) edged a close 3:2 decision over Uzbekistan’s Abdurakhmon Makhmudjonov. The heavier divisions saw explosive finishes, including Kazakhstan’s Taibekov Timur scoring a first-round knockout at 80kg, and Rassul Assankhanov (KAZ) forcing a stoppage in the second round at 90kg.
UAE’s Orkhan Aghayev (90+kg) also powered through to the finals with a commanding 5:0 victory over Qatar’s Faris Al-Thani, underscoring the UAE’s growing presence in Asian boxing.
With the finalists now decided, anticipation builds for the championship bouts, where gold medals and continental supremacy will be on the line. The Asian Boxing U19 & U22 Boxing Championships continue to highlight the depth of talent across the region, reaffirming the sport’s strong future in Asia.
