The Asian Boxing U19 & U22 Boxing Championships concluded its finals today in Bangkok, delivering a spectacular showcase of skill, power, and resilience from the continent’s rising stars.
In the Women’s Light Flyweight (48kg) final, Kazakhstan’s Gulnaz Buribayeva earned a 4:1 points win over Uzbekistan’s Robiyakhon Bakhtiyorova. Uzbekistan struck back in the Women’s Flyweight (51kg) division, with Gulsevar Ganieva dominating Vietnam’s Thi Ngoc Tran Nguyen 5:0. Teammate Khumorabonu Mamajonova also claimed gold for Uzbekistan in the Women’s Featherweight (57kg) category, defeating India’s Yatri Shirishkumar Patel by a unanimous 5:0 decision.
China celebrated victory in the Women’s Lightweight (60kg) final, as Yu Tian edged India’s Priya 3:2, while Shanatibieke Dina secured Women’s Welterweight (65kg) gold with a commanding 5:0 win over Chinese Taipei’s Yu-Ting Jhuo. Kazakhstan’s Bakyt Seidish claimed the Women’s Light Middleweight (70kg) title with a 5:0 victory against Uzbekistan’s Oysha Toirova, and China’s Ziyi Bao stopped Shugyla Nalibay of Kazakhstan in round two to take Women’s Middleweight (75kg) gold. India’s Ritika wrapped up the women’s finals by defeating Kazakhstan’s Assel Toktassyn 4:1 for the Heavyweight (+80kg) crown.
In the men’s events, Uzbekistan’s Samandar Olimov secured the Bantamweight (55kg) title with a flawless 5:0 win over Mongolia’s Dulguunsaikhan Kharkhuu. Kazakhstan’s Nurislam Kaldybayev took Lightweight (60kg) gold after a tight 3:2 decision against Uzbekistan’s Shohruh Abdumalikov. In the Welterweight (65kg) final, Sayat Ilyasov of Uzbekistan outpointed Kazakhstan’s Ilya Kalinin 4:1.
Kazakhstan’s Nurbek Mursal fell short for the Light Middleweight (70kg) gold with a 4:1 decision for Uzbekistan’s Mukhammad Azizbek Ismoilov, while Uzbekistan’s Shavkatjon Boltaev secured a 5:0 win against India’s Neeraj in the Middleweight (75kg) final. Sanzhar-Ali Begaliyev of Kazakhstan edged Rakhmatullo Boymatov of Uzbekistan 3:2 for Light Heavyweight (80kg) gold.
Uzbekistan’s Abdulaziz Abdurakhmonov claimed the Cruiserweight (85kg) title with a 4:1 win over Iran’s Sam Estaki, and Kazakhstan’s Temirlan Mukatayev took the Heavyweight (90kg) crown with a close 3:2 victory against Uzbekistan’s Shakhzod Polvonov. In the Super Heavyweight (+90kg) division, Uzbekistan’s Khalimjon Mamasoliev delivered a commanding 5:0 performance against India’s Ishan Kataria.
The men’s Flyweight (50kg) title went to Japan’s Shodai Koto, who defeated Thailand’s Thitiwat Phlongaurai 5:0. Closing the day for the women, Thailand’s Natnicha Chongprongklang triumphed in the Bantamweight (54kg) final, winning 5:0 over Uzbekistan’s Uzukjamol Yunusova.
