Day 3 of the World Boxing Championships brought a wave of success for Asia’s leading boxers, who combined clean sweeps with hard-fought split-decision victories at the M&S Bank Arena.

Women’s Highlights

Feruza Kazakova (Uzbekistan, 51kg) impressed with a flawless 5:0 decision over Yuliett Hinestroza (Panama), cementing her status as one of the top flyweights.

Mungunsaran Balsan (Mongolia, 51kg) matched that dominance, shutting out Ukraine’s Yaroslava Marynchuk 5:0 to continue her nation’s strong start.

Viktoriya Grafeyeva (Kazakhstan, 60kg) battled to a narrow 3:2 victory over Kosovo’s Donjeta Sadiku, highlighting her resilience under pressure.

Wang Lina (China, 75kg) controlled the ring in a 5:0 win over Kazakhstan’s Nadezhda Ryabets, underlining China’s growing power in the middleweights.

In the super-heavyweight class, Oltinoy Sotimboeva (Uzbekistan, +80kg) dominated Mariia Lovchynska (Ukraine) with a shutout 5:0 performance.

 

Men’s Highlights

Zeyad Eashash (Jordan, 70kg) continued his country’s strong momentum, defeating Carlos Flowers (USA) with a commanding 5:0 win.

Shavkatjon Boltaev (Uzbekistan, 70kg) edged Sweden’s Kevin Scott 3:2 in a tense encounter to keep his medal campaign alive.

Sewon Okazawa (Japan, 70kg), one of Asia’s most decorated boxers, dismantled Kelvin Soquessa (Czech Republic) 5:0 with precision and speed.

Ikhtiiar Nishonov (Kyrgyzstan, 70kg) powered past Sonny Kerr (Scotland) in a dominant 5:0 showing.

Bayramdurdy Nurmuhamedov (Turkmenistan, 70kg) pulled off a 3:2 victory against Brazil’s Kaian Reis in one of the closest bouts of the day.

In the lightweight division, Abdumalik Khalokov (Uzbekistan, 60kg), the top seed, proved untouchable with a 5:0 shutout over Turkey’s Mehmethan Cinar.

Biibars Zhexen (Kazakhstan, 60kg) joined the winners’ circle with a 5:0 win over the Philippines’ Junmilardo Ogayre.

Sachin (India, 60kg) showed class and composure to defeat Australia’s Jacob Cassar by unanimous decision.

Shunsuke Kitamoto (Japan, 60kg) completed the sweep for Asia’s lightweights, cruising past Enrique Kakulov (Spain) 5:0.

Gantumur Lundaa (Mongolia, 60kg) added to Mongolia’s success with a commanding 5:0 win over Georgia’s Artyush Gomtsyan.

Munarbek Seiitbek Uulu (Kyrgyzstan, 60kg) sealed the evening session with a 4:1 win over Albania’s Ani Haxhillari.
