Asian Youth Games boxing semifinals off to a flying start

The afternoon session of semifinals at the Asian Youth Games in Bahrain delivered intense and emotional bouts as young boxers from across Asia fought for their place in the finals.

Girls’ 46kg

India’s Khushi Chand defeated Mongolia’s Altanzul Altangadas by unanimous decision (5–0), while Luo Jinxiu of China claimed victory over Chen Fang-yu of Chinese Taipei (5–0).

Girls’ 54kg

Uzbekistan’s Kumriniso Muhammadova advanced to the finals after a split-decision win (4–1) against Aminaa Azjargal of Mongolia. In the same division, India’s Chandrika Bhoreshi Pujari earned a dominant 5–0 victory over Kazakhstan’s Ramina Makhanova.

Girls’ 66kg

India’s Harnoor Kaur defeated Lu Wen-jing of Chinese Taipei (5–0), and Ayaulym Ospanova of Kazakhstan overpowered Uzbekistan’s Ulbosin Djalgasbaeva with a clean 5–0 win.

Girls’ +80kg

Kazakhstan’s Elnura Kongyrat stopped Iran’s Fatemeh Rastegarmehjenabadi in the third round (RSC 1:04), while Anshika of India secured her spot in the finals with a 5–0 win against China’s Guo Jiaqing.

Boys’ 50kg

India’s Lanchenba Singh Moibungkhongbam outpointed An Phyong Guk of DPR Korea (5–0), and Zhumagali Nurmakhan of Kazakhstan defeated Japan’s Kira Hasegawa by a 4–1 decision.

Boys’ 60kg

Zubair Akramov of Kyrgyzstan won by referee stoppage due to injury (RSC-I R1 0:25) against Abubakr Azizov of Tajikistan, while Ibrokhim Shokirjonov of Uzbekistan edged past Zhang Zhengkun of China in a close 3–2 decision.

Boys’ 75kg

Uzbekistan’s Diyorbek Murodilloeev won all rounds against Kazakhstan’s Sanzhar Matassov (5–0), and Iran’s Mehrshad Sherafatmand Deyman secured a 5–0 win over Guan Yiwen of China.

The winners will advance to the finals of the 3rd Asian Youth Games – Bahrain 2025, set to determine the next generation of champions representing Asia’s boxing future.
