Nepal’s Top Boxers Crowned Champions at Talent Hunt II – National Selection for the 20th Asian Games

Nepal’s finest boxers showcased exceptional skill and determination at the finals of the Talent Hunt II Boxing Tournament 2025, held under the Nepal Boxing Federation as the official national selection for the 20th Asian Games.
Ten finals were contested across men’s and women’s divisions, with several dominant victories reflecting the strength of the Nepal Army (TAC), Armed Police Force (APF), and regional teams.
Women’s Divisions
In the Flyweight (51kg) final, Ramisha Shrestha (RDS) clinched the gold after a commanding 5–0 win over Lalu Maya Chhetri (TAC).
At Bantamweight (54kg), Barsha Shrestha (TAC) outclassed Sumina Khadka (TAC-B), also by unanimous decision.
Bimala Shrestha (TAC-B) delivered another clean 5–0 victory over Sushmita Rai (TAC) in the Lightweight (60kg) final.
In the Welterweight (65kg) bout, Kusum Tamang (TAC-B) defeated Niru Gurung (TAC), marking a perfect 5–0 sweep for the blue corner across all four women’s finals.
Men’s Divisions
In the men’s Bantamweight (55kg) final, Chandra Bdr Thapa (NPC) scored a 5–0 win against Funglang Kambang (Jhapa) to secure gold.
Khagendra Rokka Magar (TAC) triumphed 4–1 over Bikram Pariyar (APF) in the Lightweight (60kg) division.
The Light Middleweight (70kg) title went to Prasan Thapa (H2O), who edged Bikram Chaudhary (APF-B) in a tight 3–2 split decision.
In the Light Heavyweight (80kg) final, Dipak Shrestha (TAC) emerged victorious 4–1 over Gesh Kumar Shrestha (TAC-B).
Madan Karki (TAC) dominated Mohan Raj Joshi (TAC-B) 5–0 to claim the Heavyweight (90kg) crown.
And in the Super Heavyweight (+90kg) division, Aashish Duwadi (TAC) concluded the tournament in style with a decisive 5–0 victory over Pawan Moktan (TAC-B).
National Pride and Road to the Asian Games
The Talent Hunt II tournament served as Nepal’s official qualifying event for the 20th Asian Games, identifying the nation’s top boxing representatives for continental competition.
