The afternoon session delivered strong performances from India and several Asian nations as the World Boxing Cup Finals continued in Greater Noida. The home crowd witnessed powerful wins from India across multiple weight categories, while boxers from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Japan also secured decisive victories.
India celebrated three major victories. Parveen controlled her bout in the women’s sixty kilogram division and won by points. Arundhati Choudhary produced one of the standout results of the cup with an RSC victory in the women’s seventy kilogram division. Nupur impressed once again in the women’s eighty plus kilogram category with a commanding five zero win. These results continue to strengthen India’s medal ambitions and highlight the depth across their women’s team.
Asian athletes across the session delivered high quality performances. Uzbekistan posted two dominant wins with Farzona Fozilova earning a close split decision in the forty eight kilogram division and Aziza Zokirova sweeping all five judges in the women’s seventy kilogram category. Japan’s Ayaka Taguchi claimed an important win in the women’s sixty kilogram division. In the heavyweight women’s category, Uzbekistan’s Oltinoy Sotimboeva secured a convincing five zero victory.
India’s Ankush won his eighty kilogram men’s bout with a clean five judge sweep. These results maintain Asia’s strong presence at the World Boxing Cup Finals and set the stage for an intense evening session.
