World Boxing Congress Approves Forty Eight New National Federations. Asia Expands Its Influence with New Members

Published on: November 30, 2025

The World Boxing Congress concluded its 2025 session with the approval of forty eight new National Federations as full members. This marks one of the largest expansions in the organisation’s history and strengthens World Boxing’s commitment to transparent, athlete centred governance and global growth.

The new members were approved after completing all statutory membership requirements. Their admission increases the breadth of representation across all continents and reinforces the sport’s development pathway ahead of upcoming international events.

Asia continued to play a leading role at this Congress. Several Asian National Federations were approved as full members, including Indonesia(Perbati), which now joins the international structure as a confirmed member nation. The approvals also highlighted the growing strength of Asia, with new memberships for Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, DPR Korea, and Vietnam. Their addition expands Asia’s participation, reach, and influence within World Boxing at a time when the continent is progressing rapidly in athlete development, event hosting, and governance reform.

The Congress also confirmed the final list of National Federations eligible to vote in 2025, along with Associate Members and those not eligible to vote due to outstanding requirements. The process reflects World Boxing’s continued emphasis on clear standards, accountability, and good standing across all National Federations.

With forty eight new full members admitted and more pending for 2026 congress, World Boxing enters a new era of wider representation and stronger continental collaboration. For Asia, this expansion reinforces its role as a leading force in modern Olympic style boxing, with Asia taking further steps onto the world stage.
