The afternoon session of the boxing competition at the 33rd SEA Games Thailand 2025 delivered three decisive victories as athletes from Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines showcased technical superiority and control in their respective contests. Vietnam opened the session with an impressive performance from Vo Thi Kim Anh in the Women’s Bantamweight 54kg division, where she secured a unanimous 5 to 0 win over Claudine Veloso of the Philippines. Kim Anh dominated the exchanges from the opening round, earning clear scores across all five judges and setting a strong tone for Vietnam’s campaign.
Host nation Thailand followed with a confident victory in the Men’s Light 46 to 48kg category as Thitiwat Phlongaurai defeated Indonesia’s Koebanu Dio with a unanimous 5 to 0 decision. Phlongaurai impressed the home crowd with clean punching and sustained ring control, taking all scorecards and maintaining Thailand’s strong presence early in the tournament.
The Philippines closed the session with an emphatic win as Jay Bryan Baricuatro prevailed over Vietnam’s Nguyen Linh Phung, also by a unanimous 5 to 0 score. Baricuatro demonstrated sharp accuracy, consistent pressure, and balanced defense throughout the bout, leaving no doubt on the judges’ cards and reinforcing the Philippines’ strength in the lighter weight divisions.
