Uzbekistan Elite Men and Women Boxing Championships Begin in Tashkent on the Road to LA28

The Uzbekistan Elite Men and Women Boxing Championships officially began today in Tashkent, marking a major milestone on the national pathway toward the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

The championships run from January 15 to January 22 and have drawn a total of 278 elite athletes, including 198 men and 80 women, highlighting the depth, competitiveness, and continued growth of boxing in Uzbekistan.
The event brings together many of the country’s leading boxers, with national team selection, international readiness, and Olympic qualification pathways firmly in focus as the Road to LA28 accelerates.

Several established stars are in action, including Iqboljon Xoldarov, Jahongir Zokirov, Asilbek Jalilov, Xo’janazar Nortojiyev, and Shaxzod Muzaffarov, all of whom are expected to play prominent roles throughout the competition.
On the women’s side, standout athletes including Navbahor Hamidova, Sabina Boboqulova, Feruza Kazakova, and Aziza Zokirova are set to showcase the strength and rising profile of women’s boxing in the country.

With Olympic ambitions firmly in sight, the Uzbekistan Elite Boxing Championships serve as a key domestic proving ground, reinforcing the nation’s reputation as one of the world’s leading boxing powers as preparations continue toward Los Angeles 2028.
