Uzbekistan Leads Women’s Finals as 20 Champions Are Crowned in Jakarta

Uzbekistan delivered a dominant performance in the women’s finals at the Asian Boxing U19 & U23 Boxing Championships Jakarta 2026, winning ten of the 20 gold medals contested on Wednesday.
Kazakhstan secured six titles across the two age categories, while India claimed three gold medals. Host nation Indonesia celebrated a historic victory through Anggie Intania Chalik in the U19 women’s 45–48kg division.
Chalik produced one of the most memorable moments of the championships, defeating India’s Gunjan by a 3:2 split decision in front of the home crowd. Indonesia had two women competing in the U19 finals, with Dira Artika earning silver in the 57kg category.
Uzbekistan topped the U19 women’s competition with four gold medals. Sabrina Chakomanova defeated India’s Joyshree Devi Chirom in the 54kg final, Sevara Mamatova overcame India’s Chahat at 60kg, Rushanabonu Isoeva defeated Chinese Taipei’s Yu-Tong Wong at 65kg, and Samira Turgunova won against India’s Anshika at 75kg.
Kazakhstan collected three U19 titles through Kamila Ospanova at 70kg, Aidana Ubaidullakyzy at 80kg, and Zarina Tolybay at +81kg.
India won two U19 gold medals. Chandrika Bhoreshi Pujari defeated Uzbekistan’s Nazokat Mardonova at 51kg, while Prachi defeated Indonesia’s Dira Artika at 57kg.
Uzbekistan continued its success in the U23 finals, winning six of the ten divisions. Gulsevar Ganieva claimed the 51kg title, Khumorabonu Mamajonova won at 57kg, Mushtariybonu Ibrokhimjon secured gold at 60kg, Sevinch Khurramova triumphed at 65kg, Rukhshona Parpieva won the 80kg division, and Sobirakhon Shakhobidinova captured the +81kg title.
Kazakhstan finished with three U23 women’s champions. Gulnaz Buribayeva defeated Mongolia’s Sodon-Od Binderiya at 45–48kg, Aziza Issina edged Uzbekistan’s Rayhona Kurbonboeva by a 3:2 split decision at 70kg, and Shugyla Nalibay defeated India’s Muskan at 75kg.
India’s Nisha secured the nation’s only U23 women’s title with a unanimous victory over Japan’s Korin Kokufu in the 54kg final.
The women’s finals showcased the continued growth and strength of women’s Olympic-style boxing across Asia, with close contests, split decisions and commanding performances throughout the two sessions.
