Day 5 of the Thailand Open brought a wave of decisive victories for boxers across two thrilling sessions, with standout performances in the men’s cruiser and middleweight divisions, and powerful displays in multiple women’s weight classes.
In the afternoon session (Session 9), Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Thailand, and Kyrgyzstan dominated the men’s cruiserweight (85kg) contests. Bekzat Tangatar (KAZ) and Tokhirov Nusratbek (UZB) both claimed unanimous wins, while Thailand’s Jakkapong Yomkhot and Kyrgyzstan’s Adylbek Uulu Erkin also cruised through with 5:0 decisions.
The women’s flyweight (51kg) division featured a clean sweep by regional contenders. Uzbekistan’s Bobokulova Sabina, China’s Wu Yu, and India’s Tamanna were among the most convincing winners of the session. In the light middleweight (70kg) class, Toirova Oysha (UZB) edged a tight contest, while Natalya Bogdanova (KAZ) prevailed over Chinese Taipei’s Chen Nien-Chin in a split decision.
The evening session (Session 10) opened with a fierce clash between Abdurakhimov Javokhir (UZB) and Timur Nurseitov (KAZ) in the middleweight division, with Abdurakhimov taking the win. Jordan’s Zaid Alden Iashash stunned the home crowd with a dominant 5:0 decision over Thailand’s Thananchai Phoemsap. Peerapat Yeasungnoen (THB) and India’s Deepak also secured impressive wins.
In the women’s featherweight (57kg), Priya (IND), Uktamova Nigina (UZB), and Punrawee Ruenros (THA) each delivered outstanding performances, while Wu Shih-Yi (TPE) advanced via RSC in the second round. The day concluded with middleweight victories from Naoko Kasahara (JPN) and Zokirova Aziza (UZB).
