In a major step toward technological independence and operational efficiency, Asian Boxing has officially acquired a licensed scoring system from Swiss Timing, allowing the Confederation to fully own and operate its own system for the first time.
The newly acquired system retains all the core functionalities of Swiss Timing’s competition-tested platform but comes with a key enhancement: the ability to manage dual rings on a single integrated system. This upgrade will streamline tournament operations, reduce logistical dependencies, and offer greater flexibility for large-scale championships.
“This investment marks a new era of autonomy and innovation for Asian Boxing,” said Bassam Ghanem, Competitions Manager. “By securing the license outright, we now have the capacity to manage our competitions at the highest technical standard—independently and efficiently.”
The system will be implemented at future Asian Boxing events, beginning with the Asian Boxing U19 & U22 Boxing Championships in Bangkok, which starts August 1, 2025.
This move reflects Asian Boxing’s commitment to building sustainable infrastructure, enhancing the quality of its competitions, and reducing long-term costs while maintaining the integrity of Olympic-style boxing under World Boxing.
