The Jordan Boxing Association (JBA) has officially announced the launch of the 2025 Open Kingdom Boxing Championship, scheduled to take place from July 25 to August 3 at Prince Rashid Hall in Al-Hussein Youth City, Amman. The prestigious national tournament will welcome men, boys, and girls born between 1985 and 2010, with the aim of expanding the sport’s reach and discovering new talent across the Kingdom.
A total of 23 weight categories will be contested—10 for men and 13 for boys and girls—under full compliance with World Boxing (WB) regulations. The championship will adopt the international 10-point must scoring system, and bouts will range from two to three rounds depending on the division. Headguards will be mandatory for youth participants, while gloves and other safety equipment will be regulated and, in some cases, provided by the organizing committee.
The registration process began on Monday, July 7, and will be conducted exclusively online. All participating athletes must present valid identification, proof of age, and medical clearance from an approved health center. Only clubs and centers that have paid the annual subscription fee to the Federation will be eligible to participate.
As part of its commitment to fair play and transparency, the JBA has emphasized strict enforcement of weigh-in procedures, safety measures, and the code of conduct. No protests will be accepted regarding match results, and disciplinary action will be taken against any violations by athletes, coaches, or clubs.
The technical meeting and official draw are scheduled for the evening of July 24, with the first bouts kicking off on July 25. Medalists will receive gold, silver, or bronze awards, with disqualified boxers ineligible for podium placements.
The 2025 Open Kingdom Championship promises to be a key milestone in Jordan’s boxing calendar, reflecting the Federation’s ongoing efforts to strengthen national competition standards and foster the next generation of champions.
