The Kingdom of Bahrain is gearing up to host the Asian Youth Games from 22 to 31 October, welcoming more than 5,000 young athletes who will compete across 24 sports. The event will play a pivotal role in shaping the road to the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal, serving as one of the most significant qualifying stages for Asia’s next generation of stars.
As the host nation, Bahrain has pledged to provide a world-class competitive environment that nurtures talent and empowers youth to reach their full potential on the international stage. The qualification process is overseen by the respective international federations, making this multi-sport event critical for athletes seeking to achieve Olympic standards.
Boxing Spotlight
Boxing will feature athletes aged 15–16 years (born 2009–2010), with competition set to take place at the state-of-the-art Exhibition World Bahrain. The tournament will be conducted under the supervision of Asian Boxing, in coordination with the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA).
Carrying extra significance, the boxing competition will double as an official qualifying event for the 2026 Youth Olympic Games, positioning Bahrain as a launchpad for Asia’s rising champions and strengthening the continent’s path toward the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
