Semi-Final Spots Secured as Day 9 Delivers High-Stakes Action in Ulaanbaatar

Day 9 of the Asian Boxing Elite Boxing Championships saw the competition intensify at the ASA Arena, with athletes battling for places in the semi-finals across the women’s 48kg and 57kg divisions, and the men’s 75kg, 85kg, and 90+kg categories.

In the women’s 48kg division, India’s Minakshi continued her dominant run, securing a 4:1 victory over Thailand’s Thipsatcha Yodwaree. Mongolia’s Nomundari Enkh-Amgalan delivered a standout performance in front of the home crowd, sweeping all scorecards in a unanimous win over Kazakhstan’s Aigerim Sattibayeva.

The women’s 57kg division produced two tightly contested bouts. India’s Jaismine edged a split decision over Uzbekistan’s Nigina Uktamova in a high-level contest, while Thailand’s Punrawee Ruenros secured a strong victory over Tajikistan’s Mijgona Samadova to advance.

In the men’s 75kg division, Uzbekistan’s Javokhir Abdurakhimov claimed a confident victory over India’s Akash, while Kazakhstan’s Sabirzhan Akkalykov advanced after a second-round referee stoppage against Mongolia’s Dalai Ganzorig.

The men’s 85kg division saw Kazakhstan’s Nurbek Oralbay deliver one of the most dominant performances of the session with a unanimous victory over Mongolia’s Bariakhaan Dorj. Uzbekistan’s Jasurbek Yuldoshev also impressed, securing a clean sweep win over India’s Lokesh.

The heavyweight 90+kg division closed the session with powerful performances. Kazakhstan’s Aibek Oralbay advanced with a dominant unanimous victory over Turkmenistan’s Dovlet Yslamov, while China’s Bayikewuzi Danabieke secured a strong win against India’s Narender.

With semi-final places on the line, Day 9 highlighted the intensity and rising stakes of the championships, as Asia’s top boxers move one step closer to the podium in Ulaanbaatar.
