Stoppages, Split Decisions, and Strong Statements Close Day 8 in Ulaanbaatar

The evening session of Day 8 at the Asian Boxing Elite Boxing Championships delivered a high-intensity lineup at the ASA Arena, with decisive victories and key matchups across the women’s 54kg, 65kg, 80kg, and 80+kg divisions, alongside the men’s 65kg and 70kg categories.

In the women’s 54kg division, Chinese Taipei’s Hsiao-Wen Huang secured a composed 4:1 victory over China’s Xuan Zhao in a closely contested bout. India’s Preeti followed with one of the most dominant performances of the session, sweeping all scorecards in a unanimous win over Korea’s Olympic medalist Aeji Im.

The women’s 65kg division saw top seed Nien-Chin Chen continue her strong run, edging India’s Ankushita Boro in a competitive contest. DPR Korea’s Hyo Sun Hwang delivered a commanding performance, defeating China’s Shu Li by unanimous decision.

In the women’s 80kg division, Kazakhstan’s Nadezhda Ryabets secured a hard-fought victory over India’s Pooja Rani, while in the 80+kg division, Kazakhstan’s Dina Islambekova advanced with a dominant unanimous win over Uzbekistan’s Oltinoy Sotimboeva.

The men’s 65kg division featured high-level matchups, with Uzbekistan’s Abdulloh Madaminov producing a standout performance to defeat Japan’s Shion Nishiyama by unanimous decision. Thailand’s Bunjong Sinsiri edged Kazakhstan’s Yertugan Zeinulinov in a tightly contested split decision.

In the men’s 70kg division, Kazakhstan’s Torekhan Sabyrkhan delivered one of the most decisive results of the session, securing a second-round referee stoppage against China’s Peicheng Wang. Jordan’s Zeyad Eashash advanced via walkover to close the session.

With a mix of dominant wins, technical battles, and stoppages, the evening session of Day 8 highlighted the rising intensity of the championships as athletes move closer to the final rounds in Ulaanbaatar.
