The U23 women’s competition continued on Wednesday evening at the Asian Boxing U19 & U23 Boxing Championships Jakarta 2026, with athletes contesting the 57kg, 60kg and 65kg divisions in an exciting session featuring a blend of dominant victories and closely contested bouts.
The women’s 57kg division opened the evening with a series of impressive performances. Kazakhstan’s Ulzhan Sarsenbek claimed a unanimous decision victory over Japan’s Riko Yamada, while Vietnam’s Thi Thom Vu and Uzbekistan’s Khumorabonu Mamajonova also progressed with convincing wins. India’s Prachi delivered the standout performance of the division, earning a first-round Referee Stops Contest victory over the Republic of Korea’s Yejin Oh.
Action continued in the women’s 60kg category, where Japan’s Sarii Kokufu advanced with a unanimous decision victory over Tajikistan’s Hangoma Isoeva. India’s Nikita Chand secured a second-round Referee Stops Contest against Chinese Taipei’s Chen-Xuan Ye, while Kazakhstan’s Ayazhan Yermek and Uzbekistan’s Mushtariybonu Ibrokhimjon also booked their places in the next round with commanding performances.
The evening concluded with the women’s 65kg division. India’s Kajal earned a hard-fought victory over Japan’s Arinda Akimoto, Kyrgyzstan’s Gulzina Melsbek Kyzy edged past the Republic of Korea’s Gukbi Hong, Uzbekistan’s Sevinch Khurramova defeated Kazakhstan’s Aruzhan Zhangabayeva, and host nation Indonesia celebrated a strong performance from Maria Meisita Manguntu, who advanced with a convincing victory over Chinese Taipei’s Yu-En Li.
