Kazakhstan Shines as U19 Competition Continues in Jakarta

The U19 competition continued on Tuesday evening at the Asian Boxing U19 & U23 Boxing Championships Jakarta 2026, with preliminary contests across the men’s 55kg, 65kg, 70kg and 75kg divisions delivering another exciting session of Olympic-style boxing.

Kazakhstan enjoyed an outstanding evening, recording victories through Nurkozha E (55kg), Akzhurek Kalabay (65kg), Bibarys Ashirbay (70kg) and Khamza Maksatuly (75kg). Three of those victories came inside the distance, with Nurkozha E and Khamza Maksatuly both securing second-round Referee Stops Contest wins to underline Kazakhstan’s impressive start to the U19 tournament.

The host nation celebrated a strong performance from Pangeran Februzio Lani, who progressed in the men’s 55kg division with a unanimous decision victory over Jordan’s Motaz Mohammad Almashaleh. Republic of Korea also enjoyed a successful session, as Hyeonmin Lee (55kg), Daeho Kang (65kg) and Dongjin Kim (75kg) all advanced with convincing victories.

India produced another solid showing, with Aditya advancing in the men’s 55kg division before Devendra Chaudhary earned a second-round Referee Stops Contest victory in the men’s 75kg category. Kyrgyzstan’s Eldiar Tenisbekov also impressed, stopping the UAE’s Fafd Elsawy in the second round of their 65kg contest.

With the preliminary rounds continuing to gather momentum, the Asian Boxing U19 & U23 Boxing Championships Jakarta 2026 continue to showcase the exceptional talent emerging across the continent, providing young athletes with valuable international competition on their pathway towards the highest level of Olympic-style boxing.
