Finalists Decided in Men’s U23 Semi-Finals at Asian Boxing Championships

The men’s U23 finals line-up was confirmed on Sunday evening as 20 semi-final bouts brought another thrilling day of action to the Asian Boxing U19 & U23 Boxing Championships Jakarta 2026.

Japan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, India and Kyrgyzstan all secured places in the championship finals following a series of high-quality performances across the men’s divisions.

Japan made an impressive start to the session with Daichi Iwai (50kg) and Koichi Nakayama (60kg) both booking their places in the gold medal bouts with convincing victories. India’s Vishvanath Suresh (50kg) also advanced to the final with a dominant unanimous decision, while Ganga (55kg) and Vanshaj (65kg) completed a successful evening for the Indian team.

Kazakhstan enjoyed another outstanding session, qualifying seven boxers for the finals through Bexulatn Boranbek (55kg), Nurassyl Tulebek (60kg), Nurbek Mursal (70kg), Aman Konsbekov (75kg), Oner Seilkhan (80kg), Temirlan Mukatayev (85kg) and Ibragim Betaev (90kg). Mukatayev delivered one of the evening’s standout performances with a second-round referee stoppage over Indonesia’s M. Riko Prayogi, while Betaev advanced after his contest ended by abandonment in the second round.

Uzbekistan also confirmed six finalists through Ilkhomjon Ergashev (65kg), Abdulloh Madaminov (70kg), Fazliddin Erkinboev (80kg), Norbek Abdullaev (85kg), Samir Sobirov (90kg) and Ozodbek Aliev (+90kg). Erkinboev and Abdullaev both impressed with second-round referee stoppage victories, while Sobirov and Aliev completed a strong evening for the Uzbek team.

Kyrgyzstan’s Almaz Orozbekov (75kg) and Myrzakir Koshaliev (+90kg) also secured their places in the finals with composed performances to complete the championship line-up.

With the finalists now confirmed, the stage is set for an exciting day of U23 championship bouts as Asia’s best young boxers prepare to compete for continental gold in Jakarta.
