U19 Women’s Finalists Confirmed at Asian Boxing Championships in Jakarta

The first finalists in the U19 competition were confirmed on Monday as the women’s semi-finals delivered an exciting day of action at the Asian Boxing U19 & U23 Boxing Championships Jakarta 2026.
Twenty semi-final contests showcased the next generation of Asian boxing talent, with India, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan producing particularly strong performances to secure multiple places in Tuesday’s championship bouts.
India enjoyed an outstanding afternoon, advancing Gunjan (45–48kg), Chandrika Bhoreshi Pujari (51kg), Joyshree Devi Chirom (54kg), Prachi (57kg), Chahat (60kg), Anshika (75kg), Megha Sheokand (80kg) and Prachi Tokas (+81kg) to the finals. Gunjan, Chandrika, Joyshree and Prachi each earned unanimous decision victories, while Anshika, Prachi Tokas and heavyweight contender Megha Sheokand progressed following referee stoppages or an opponent’s retirement.
Uzbekistan also booked an impressive seven places in the finals through Nazokat Mardonova (51kg), Sabrina Chakomanova (54kg), Sevara Mamatova (60kg), Rushanabonu Isoeva (65kg), Maftuna Yangieva (70kg), Samira Turgunova (75kg) and Aidana Ubaidullakyzy’s opponent in the 80kg division—correction: Sabrina Chakomanova, Sevara Mamatova, Rushanabonu Isoeva, Maftuna Yangieva and Samira Turgunova all advanced, with Chakomanova earning a second-round referee stoppage and Turgunova securing victory by third-round stoppage.
Kazakhstan qualified four finalists through Kamila Ospanova (70kg), Aidana Ubaidullakyzy (80kg), Zarina Tolybay (+81kg) and Madira Zhumakan’s opponent—correction: Aidana Ubaidullakyzy and Zarina Tolybay both recorded referee stoppage victories, while Kamila Ospanova advanced on points.
Elsewhere, Indonesia celebrated a memorable home victory as Anggie Intania Chalik edged Japan’s Yura Tanaka by split decision to reach the 45–48kg final. Chinese Taipei’s Yu-Tong Wong also booked her place in the 65kg final with a first-round referee stoppage over Vietnam’s Thai Ngoc Nguyen.
With the finalists now confirmed, the U19 women’s division is set for an exciting day of championship bouts as Asia’s best young female boxers prepare to compete for continental gold at the Asian Boxing U19 & U23 Boxing Championships Jakarta 2026.
