U23 Women’s Semi-Finals Deliver Thrilling Action at the Asian Boxing U19 & U23 Championships

The women’s U23 competition continued to raise the standard at the Asian Boxing U19 & U23 Boxing Championships Jakarta 2026, with 18 semi-finals bouts showcasing the depth of talent across the continent as boxers battled for places in the finals.

Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and India all enjoyed strong performances throughout the afternoon session, while Japan, the Republic of Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia and Chinese Taipei also featured prominently in a highly competitive programme.

Kazakhstan claimed victories through Gulnaz Buribayeva (45–48kg), Anita Adisheva (51kg), Ulzhan Sarsenbek (57kg), Shugyla Nalibay (75kg) and Aziza Issina (70kg), highlighting the nation’s strength across multiple weight divisions.

Uzbekistan also enjoyed an impressive session with victories from Gulsevar Ganieva (51kg), Khumorabonu Mamajonova (57kg), Mushtariybonu Ibrokhimjon (60kg), Sevinch Khurramova (65kg), Rayhona Kurbonboeva (70kg) and Rukhshona Parpieva (80kg). Kurbonboeva produced one of the standout performances of the day, forcing a second-round referee stoppage against the Republic of Korea’s Yejin Lee.

India celebrated important wins through Nisha (54kg), Nikita Chand (60kg), Kajal (65kg), Muskan (75kg) and Priyanka (+81kg). Kajal and Nisha both advanced following dominant referee stoppage victories, while Priyanka impressed with a unanimous points decision over Kazakhstan’s Panar Seiitkhankyzy in the heavyweight division.

Japan’s Korin Kokufu secured a hard-fought victory over Uzbekistan’s Uzukjamol Yunusova in the 54kg division, while Mongolia’s Sodon-Od Binderiya recorded a convincing unanimous decision over Indonesia’s Linda Sari Langi Maililin in the opening weight class.

With places in the finals now secured, the remaining contenders move one step closer to continental glory as the Asian Boxing U19 & U23 Boxing Championships Jakarta 2026 continue in the Indonesian capital.
