ASIAN BOXING CONFIRMS VOTING PROCEDURE FOR ATHLETES’ COMMITTEE VICE CHAIR ELECTION

Published on: August 31, 2026

Asian Boxing has confirmed the official voting procedure for the election of the Vice Chair of the Asian Boxing Athletes’ Committee, which will take place on 27 September 2026 at the competition venue during the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026.

The election will be conducted during Competition Sessions 13 and 14, with voting opening at the beginning of Session 13 and closing at the conclusion of Session 14.

A dedicated Asian Boxing Election Table will be positioned at the Athletes’ Entrance and will remain staffed by authorized Asian Boxing employees and election officials throughout the voting period.

Every athlete holding valid official competition accreditation will be eligible to participate in the election. Each eligible athlete will be entitled to cast one vote for one of the officially approved candidates for Vice Chair.

To receive a ballot, athletes must personally present their competition accreditation at the election table, where their eligibility will be verified. Proxy voting will not be permitted under any circumstances, and no coach, team official, athlete or other individual may cast a vote on behalf of another athlete.

Following verification, each athlete will receive one original ballot paper issued by Asian Boxing before proceeding to the designated private voting area. Athletes must select one candidate, fold their ballot to maintain the secrecy of their vote and personally place it into the official ballot box.

Only original ballot papers issued directly by Asian Boxing at the election table will be accepted. Photocopied, reproduced, scanned, photographed, printed or otherwise duplicated ballots will be considered invalid.

Strict measures will also be in place to protect the secrecy and integrity of the election. Mobile phones may not be used while voting, and photography, video recording or any other form of reproduction of ballot papers is prohibited within the voting area.

Ballots may be declared invalid if more than one candidate is selected, if the athlete’s choice cannot be clearly determined, or if the ballot is not an original ballot officially issued by Asian Boxing.

Once a ballot has been placed into the official ballot box, the vote will be considered final and cannot be changed.

The election forms part of Asian Boxing’s commitment to ensuring athletes have a direct and meaningful voice within the governance and future development of Olympic-style boxing across Asia.
