Asian Boxing will have strong representation in the upcoming World Boxing Congress 2026 elections, with candidates from across the continent in the running for positions on the World Boxing Executive Board and the Sport & Competition Committee.
The elections will take place during the World Boxing Congress in Panama City, Panama, on November 20, 2026.
Three Asian candidates are in the running for Vice President, with one positions to be elected(second VP is for a woman candidate). They are H.R.H. Prince Nayef Bin Asem of Jordan, Rauan Igenev of Kazakhstan and Shohid Tillaboev of Uzbekistan.
Asia will also have four candidates contesting the two available Executive Board Member positions: Han Bo of China, Rauan Igenev of Kazakhstan, Kit Long Lou of Macau and Ali Takleef Saheed of Iraq.
For Chair of the Sport & Competition Committee, two of the three candidates are from Asia: Rauan Igenev of Kazakhstan and Kit Long Lou of Macau.
The World Boxing Congress is the organisation’s highest authority, with member National Federations participating in key decisions and elections that shape the governance and future direction of the sport.
The November Congress will see elections held for two Vice Presidents, two Executive Board Members and the Chairs of the Sport & Competition Committee, Finance & Audit Committee and Medical & Anti-Doping Committee.
