Asian Boxing Pre-Asian Games Training Camp Begins in Nishio City

Published on: September 11, 2026

The next stage of preparations for the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games is underway, with the Asian Boxing pre-Asian Games training camp beginning in Nishio City, Aichi, Japan.

The camp brings together more than 220 participants from 14 National Federations, providing another important period of international training and sparring ahead of the Asian Games.

Thailand, the Philippines, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, India, Japan, Qatar, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Indonesia, Tajikistan and Palestine are participating in the camp, with several of Asia’s leading boxing nations represented.

The Nishio City camp follows the conclusion of the two-week pre-Asian Games training camp in Thailand, where boxers from nine countries trained together at Thailand’s new International Boxing Training Center.

For several teams, Japan represents the final stage of preparation before the start of boxing competition at Aichi-Nagoya 2026, allowing boxers to continue their preparations in the host country and train alongside athletes they could soon meet in competition.

The camp also reflects Asian Boxing’s continued focus on creating opportunities for National Federations and their athletes to train together, exchange experience and strengthen preparations through international cooperation.

With the Asian Games now approaching, attention turns from preparation to competition as teams complete their final training in Japan ahead of Aichi-Nagoya 2026.
