Following the successful conclusion of the Electoral Congress in Bangkok, the newly elected Board of Directors of Asian Boxing convened for its first official meeting today, where President Pichai Chunhavajira formally recommended Mr. Ali Salameh for the position of Secretary General.
In accordance with the Asian Boxing Constitution, the President’s recommendation was presented to the Board for approval. The motion received full support, and the Board voted unanimously in favor of appointing Mr. Salameh as Secretary General of Asian Boxing.
Mr. Salameh has served as Interim Secretary General since the founding of Asian Boxing in December 2024. During this period, he played a key role in shaping the structure of the organization, coordinating two major continental championships, and guiding its administrative and strategic development.
President Chunhavajira thanked the Board for its support and expressed confidence in Mr. Salameh’s continued leadership:
“Ali has demonstrated a deep commitment to our values of transparency, professionalism, and unity. With this official appointment, he will continue to drive the work of Asian Boxing forward as we build a strong future for our sport and our athletes.”
The appointment of the Secretary General marks another important step in solidifying the leadership and governance of Asian Boxing, the first continental Confederation under the umbrella of World Boxing.
