U22 Boxers Make Their Debut as Day 2 Morning Session Delivers High-Level Performances

The Asian Boxing U19 and U22 Boxing Championships Bangkok 2025 continued this morning with the launch of the U22 age bracket, as boxers from across Asia stepped into the ring for the first time in their division.
A total of 17 preliminary bouts were contested at Indoor Stadium Huamark, with athletes from both women’s and men’s categories delivering strong and tactical performances in front of a growing audience.
In the women’s draw, Uzbekistan’s Robiyakhon Bakhtiyorova dominated her bout in the light flyweight division, while Yu-Shan Liu of Chinese Taipei secured a first-round stoppage in her flyweight contest against Saudi Arabia’s Yara Alamri. Home favorite Natnicha Chongprongklang of Thailand advanced with a 4:1 win in the bantamweight class, and Vietnam’s Thi To Nhu Tran impressed with a third-round RSC victory in her bout against Sri Lanka.
In the men’s flyweight (50kg) division, wins came from Arpil Rana (Nepal), Behruz Kholdorov (Uzbekistan), and Vicky Tahumil Jr (Indonesia), who each secured decisions in closely contested bouts. In bantamweight action, Jinseong Hong (Korea) and Manato Yamashita (Japan) each delivered dominant 5:0 performances, while India’s Sagar and the Philippines’ Ronel Suyom advanced with unanimous victories.
The U22 competition, held for the first time under Asian Boxing, provides a crucial opportunity for rising senior-level athletes to gain continental experience and work toward international qualification pathways.
The championship continues this evening with more preliminary action across additional weight categories, as over 360 registered boxers compete for continental glory in the heart of Bangkok.
