The boxing competition at the 33rd SEA Games Thailand 2025 continued on Sunday afternoon with Session 5 delivering decisive performances across women’s and men’s divisions, as host nation Thailand and regional contenders asserted their presence in the ring.
Thailand opened the session with a strong showing in the women’s bantamweight 54kg category, where Natnicha Chongprongklang claimed a hard fought victory over Vietnam’s Vo Thi Kim Anh. The Thai boxer secured a win on points by a 4:1 split decision, demonstrating composure and tactical control across three rounds to advance in the competition.
In another women’s bantamweight 54kg bout, Indonesia’s Maharani Nabila delivered a dominant performance against Myanmar’s Htar Htar Nwe Mya. Nabila controlled the contest from start to finish, earning a unanimous 5:0 decision to comfortably progress and underline Indonesia’s growing strength in the women’s divisions.
The women’s lightweight 60kg contest saw Thailand’s Tantawa Apisada produce one of the standout performances of the session. The emphatic victory showcased Thailand’s power and precision as the home athlete overwhelmed her opponent early.
In the men’s middleweight 75kg category, Thailand continued its momentum through Weerapon Jongjoho, who delivered a commanding display against Malaysia’s Aziz Mohd Firdaus. Jongjoho secured a unanimous 5:0 points victory, consistently outscoring his opponent and earning clear scorelines from all judges to move forward in the tournament.
