The boxing competition at the 33rd SEA Games Thailand 2025 continued to gather momentum on Monday afternoon as Session 6 produced four decisive bouts across the men’s flyweight, welterweight, and light heavyweight divisions, with strong performances from Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, and Vietnam

In the men’s flyweight 51kg contest, Indonesia’s Junior Vicky Tahumil edged Malaysia’s Ariffin Muhammad Abdul Qaiyum in a tightly contested bout, earning a split decision victory by 3:2. The bout saw both boxers exchange at close range throughout, with Tahumil doing enough on the judges’ scorecards to secure the win and progress in the tournament.

Thailand asserted its dominance in the men’s welterweight 69kg category as Bunjong Sinsiri delivered a composed and commanding performance to defeat Philippines boxer Mark Ashley Fajardo by unanimous decision, 5:0. Sinsiri controlled the tempo from the opening round, using effective ring movement and clean combinations to sweep all five judges’ scorecards.

Another welterweight bout ended emphatically when Singapore’s Tan Jun Jie Velvan forced a referee stoppage against Timor Leste’s Alexandre Meliano da Costa Freitas. The contest was halted in the third round at 2:37, with Velvan’s sustained pressure and accuracy proving decisive as he advanced by RSC.

Vietnam also celebrated a convincing victory in the men’s light heavyweight 80kg division, where Nguyen Manh Cuong outboxed Timor Leste’s Jeremias Mendonca Amaral to claim a unanimous 5:0 points decision. Nguyen showcased sharp counterpunching and tactical control across all three rounds to secure his place in the next stage.

With competition intensifying and national pride on the line, Session 6 underlined the depth of talent on display at the SEA Games, as boxers from across Southeast Asia continue their pursuit of podium success in Bangkok.
