Opening Session Sets the Tone at Asian Boxing Elite Boxing Championships Ulaanbaatar 2026

The Asian Boxing Elite Boxing Championships Ulaanbaatar 2026 officially began today at the ASA Arena, with the first session delivering a strong and competitive start to the tournament.

A total of 13 bouts were contested in Ring 1, featuring action across the women’s 51kg and 54kg divisions, along with the men’s 70kg category.

In the women’s 51kg division, the Philippines’ Xian Baguhin opened with a dominant unanimous decision victory, while DPR Korea’s Kum Byol An impressed with a third-round referee stoppage. Korea’s Chorong Bak also advanced following a solid performance to secure a split decision win.

The women’s 54kg division saw a series of commanding performances, with Thailand’s Natnicha Chongprongklang and India’s Preeti both claiming clear unanimous decision victories. Japan’s Tsukimi Namiki also progressed with a confident 5:0 win.

In the men’s 70kg category, China’s Peicheng Wang delivered a standout performance with a dominant victory, while Jordan’s Zeyad Eashash and India’s Deepak both advanced after strong bouts. Mongolia’s Byamba-Erdene Otgonbaatar secured an important win for the host nation, earning a unanimous decision in front of the home crowd.
The opening session highlighted the depth and quality of boxing across Asia, setting the stage for the competition ahead.

The championships, featuring 194 boxers from 21 national federations, will continue in Ulaanbaatar through to the finals on April 9 and 10.
