Upsets and Statement Wins Define Day 6 Afternoon Session in Ulaanbaatar

The afternoon session of Day 6 at the Asian Boxing Elite Boxing Championships delivered a mix of dominant performances, early stoppages, and key upsets across the women’s 65kg and men’s 50kg and 65kg divisions at the ASA Arena.

In the women’s 65kg division, Chinese Taipei’s Nien-Chin Chen showcased her class with a clean unanimous victory over Thailand’s Porntip Buala. India’s Ankushita Boro edged Kazakhstan’s Laura Yessenkeldi in a competitive split decision, while DPR Korea’s Hyo Sun Hwang secured a strong second-round stoppage against Uzbekistan’s Feruza Abdualimova.

China’s Shu Li delivered one of the most dominant performances of the division, earning a unanimous decision over Mongolia’s Tsetsegdari Myagmarsuren.

The men’s 50kg division saw one of the biggest upsets of the day, as India’s Vishvanath Suresh defeated reigning world champion Sanzhar Tashkenbay by unanimous decision. Jordan’s Huthaifa Eshish responded with a composed and dominant win, while Japan’s Daichi Iwai advanced following a first-round stoppage.

Philippines’ John Wayne Vicera added to the momentum with a convincing unanimous victory over Mongolia’s Battulga Aldarkhishig.

In the men’s 65kg division, Japan’s Shion Nishiyama edged a close split decision over Jordan’s Obada Alkasbeh in one of the tightest bouts of the session. Uzbekistan’s Abdulloh Madaminov continued his strong run with a dominant unanimous win over India’s Aditya Pratap Yadav.

Thailand’s Bunjong Sinsiri impressed with a clean sweep on the scorecards, while Kazakhstan’s Yertugan Zeinulinov advanced after a closely contested split decision against Kyrgyzstan’s Mirzokhid Imamnazarov.

As the championships move deeper into the competition, Day 6 continues to highlight the intensity and depth of talent across Asia, with every bout carrying increasing significance on the road to the finals.
