Final Day of Quarterfinals Concludes as U17 Semifinal Line-Up Confirmed in Tashkent

The final day of quarterfinal action at the Asian Boxing U15 and U17 Boxing Championships concluded on Friday in Tashkent, completing the semifinal line-up across the remaining U17 boys’ divisions.

Across two sessions, athletes competed for the final places in the medal rounds, producing a full day of high-level performances, narrow decisions, and decisive stoppages as the championships moved into their final stages.

The morning session featured quarterfinal bouts in the flyweight, light bantamweight, bantamweight, and featherweight divisions, where Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, India, Jordan, and China were among the National Federations advancing.

Host nation Uzbekistan continued its strong run in front of the home crowd, with Oybek Alimdjonov and Abdulbosit Yursunboev delivering standout victories in the bantamweight division, while several bouts went the distance in closely contested contests.

Jordan’s Hasan Salem also delivered one of the most decisive performances of the session with a first-round stoppage victory in the featherweight category.

The evening session continued with quarterfinal action across the lightweight, welterweight, middleweight, light heavyweight, and heavyweight divisions, officially completing the semifinal field.

Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Korea, and India were among the teams securing important wins as the competition intensified further.

Uzbekistan again produced strong results, with Rushen Saydullaev, Fbahodir Kholikulov, Abduvohid Abdumajidov, Marufjon Toshpulatov, and Samandarbek Umarov all advancing into the semifinals following commanding performances.

Several bouts ended before the final bell, particularly in the welterweight and light middleweight categories, highlighting the physical pace and technical sharpness now defining the later stages of the championships.

With the quarterfinal phase now complete, the championships move into the semifinals, where athletes will compete for places in the finals and the opportunity to challenge for continental gold in Tashkent.
