The Asian Boxing U15 and U17 Boxing Championships continued in the quarterfinal stage on Thursday in Tashkent, with a full day of U17 competition confirming semifinalists across the girls’ and boys’ divisions.

Across two sessions, the championships delivered some of the most competitive bouts seen so far, with athletes battling for guaranteed medal positions and places in the semifinals.

The morning session focused on the U17 girls’ lower weight categories, where Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, India, China, and Mongolia were among the National Federations producing standout performances. Several contests ended early through referee stoppages, while others went the distance in tightly contested battles.

Host nation Uzbekistan enjoyed a strong session on home soil, with Rukhshonabonu Ahadova, Farangiz Usvalieva, Parvina Shakarova, and Marjona Khudayberdieva all advancing through composed performances in front of the home crowd.

India also continued its strong run in the girls’ competition, securing important victories through both stoppages and unanimous decisions as the tournament moved deeper into the medal rounds.

The evening session saw quarterfinal action continue across the remaining girls’ categories before shifting into the U17 boys’ divisions, where the intensity and pace rose sharply.

Japan, Uzbekistan, India, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan were among the teams advancing in the boys’ categories, with several bouts decided by narrow scorelines. A number of contests were stopped before the final bell, particularly in the pinweight and light flyweight divisions, highlighting the aggressive pace and technical sharpness emerging at this stage of the championships.

Uzbekistan again produced strong results during the evening session, with Kumriniso Muhammadova, Salomatkhon Sardorova, Mehrimakh Kilichova, Feruzabonu Kamolova, and Abdulloh Nuraliev all progressing to the semifinals.
With quarterfinals now completed across multiple divisions, the championship field continues to narrow as athletes move within reach of the finals and the continental titles in Tashkent.
