The Asian Boxing U15 and U17 Boxing Championships continued on Saturday in Tashkent with a full day of U15 girls semifinal action, officially confirming the finalists across all weight categories.
With places in the gold medal bouts on the line, the semifinal stage delivered high-intensity contests, early stoppages, and strong performances from athletes representing National Federations across Asia.
Host nation Uzbekistan enjoyed a successful day in front of the home crowd, advancing multiple athletes into the finals through composed and confident performances. Odina Yusupova, Zebiniso Abdullayeva, Mukaddas Zokirova, and Khonzodabegim Baratova were among the Uzbek athletes securing victories to move into tomorrow’s championship bouts.
India also produced a strong showing throughout the semifinals, with athletes progressing across several weight divisions, including the 30-33kg, 40kg, 58kg, and 61kg categories. A number of Indian boxers secured their places in the finals through referee stoppages, underlining the aggressive pace and technical sharpness seen throughout the session.
Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan continued their strong presence in the U15 girls division as well, collecting important semifinal victories and confirming finalists across multiple categories.
Several bouts ended before the final bell, particularly in the heavier divisions, as the intensity of the competition continued to rise with the finals approaching.
The semifinal stage highlighted the depth of emerging talent across the continent, with athletes now one victory away from continental gold at the Asian Boxing U15 and U17 Boxing Championships in Tashkent.
