Quarterfinal Spots Secured as U15 Competition Reaches Critical Stage in Tashkent

Day 4 of the Asian Boxing U15 and U17 Boxing Championships marked a decisive step in the competition, as U15 quarterfinal bouts were contested across two sessions in Tashkent, confirming semifinalists across multiple weight categories.

With places in the medal rounds on the line, the level of competition rose sharply, producing a mix of dominant performances and tightly contested decisions.

The morning session featured quarterfinal bouts in the lower weight categories, where Uzbekistan, India, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan were among the National Federations advancing. Several contests went to close decisions, reflecting the narrowing margins at this stage, while others were controlled from start to finish, with clear superiority shown by advancing boxers.

Host nation Uzbekistan delivered a strong performance in front of the home crowd, with multiple athletes progressing confidently through their bouts.

In the evening session, the remaining quarterfinals unfolded across the middle weight categories. India, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and Uzbekistan continued to feature prominently, with composed and disciplined performances securing progression into the semifinals.

A number of bouts were stopped early, particularly in the 55kg and 49kg divisions, highlighting the physical edge and sharp execution of athletes as the intensity of the championships continues to build.

Across both sessions, Day 4 defined the semifinal landscape, with the field narrowing and the path to the podium becoming clear.

The championships now move into the medal stages, where semifinalists will compete for a place in the finals.
