Published on: May 5, 2026

Day 3 of the Asian Boxing U15 and U17 Boxing Championships saw the U15 boys’ divisions take center stage in the morning session, followed by a full slate of U17 bouts in the evening, as the championships continued to build in intensity in Tashkent.

The morning session focused on the U15 boys, with a high number of bouts across multiple weight categories. Boxers from India, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan were among those delivering strong performances, with several securing unanimous decisions. A number of contests were stopped early, particularly in the higher weight categories, as athletes asserted clear control in the ring.

Host nation Uzbekistan saw multiple boxers advance, including Sardor Omonboev, Azizbek Egamberganov, and Ibrokhim Mirzakarimov, each earning decisive wins in front of home support.

The afternoon session shifted to the U17 boys’ division, where competition continued across the bantamweight, light welterweight, welterweight, and middleweight categories.

India, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Chinese Taipei were among the federations recording key victories, with a mix of dominant wins and closely contested bouts. Several matches ended in referee stoppages, particularly in the welterweight and middleweight divisions, reflecting the increasing physicality as athletes progress deeper into the preliminary rounds.

Uzbekistan continued to gain momentum on home soil, with multiple athletes advancing across weight categories, while Kazakhstan and India also recorded consistent results throughout the session.

Day 3 highlighted the growing pace of the championships, with both U15 and U17 divisions now fully in motion as athletes continue their path toward the medal stages.

Competition continues tomorrow in Tashkent with the Quarterfinals.
