U17 Champions Crowned as Asian Boxing Championships Conclude in Tashkent

The Asian Boxing U15 and U17 Boxing Championships officially concluded on Friday in Tashkent, as continental champions were crowned in the U17 girls’ and boys’ divisions following a full day of finals action.

The final championship session brought together the strongest young athletes from across Asia, with gold medals decided through a mix of dominant performances, narrow split decisions, and high-intensity contests across every weight category.

Host nation Uzbekistan delivered a major statement on the final day, capturing multiple U17 continental titles in front of a passionate home crowd. Kumriniso Muhammadova, Mehrimakh Kilichova, Karina Ilmuratova, Sohibakhon Khudoyberdiev, Kamronbek Bahodirov, Rushen Saydullaev, Fbahodir Kholikulov, Abduvohid Abdumajidov, and Marufjon Toshpulatov were among the Uzbek athletes crowned champions in Tashkent.

Kazakhstan also finished the championships strongly, securing titles across both the girls’ and boys’ divisions, including victories in the flyweight, welterweight, middleweight, light heavyweight, and heavyweight categories.
India continued its successful campaign with gold medal performances in several girls’ divisions, while champions were also crowned from Japan, China, Bahrain, Iran, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan.

A number of finals were decided by the narrowest margins, particularly in the boys’ lighter weight divisions and the girls’ heavyweight category, reflecting the competitiveness and technical level reached throughout the championships.

The finals also featured several commanding performances, including unanimous decisions and referee stoppages, as athletes delivered standout displays on the final stage of the tournament.

Across the U15 and U17 divisions, the championships showcased the next generation of Olympic-style boxing talent in Asia, bringing together emerging athletes from across the continent in one of the largest youth boxing events on the Asian calendar.
