The Asian Boxing U15 and U17 Boxing Championships continued on Monday in Tashkent with the U17 girls semifinals, as finalists were confirmed across all weight categories ahead of the championship bouts.
The semifinal stage delivered a full afternoon of high-level action, featuring dominant performances, closely contested decisions, and multiple referee stoppages as athletes battled for places in the finals.
Host nation Uzbekistan produced another strong performance in front of the home crowd, advancing multiple athletes into the gold medal bouts. Rukhshonabonu Ahadova, Parvina Shakarova, Kumriniso Muhammadova, Mehrimakh Kilichova, Karina Ilmuratova, and Sohibakhon Khudoyberdiev all secured semifinal victories to move within one step of continental gold.
India also continued its impressive run throughout the championships, with athletes advancing across several divisions including pinweight, featherweight, light welterweight, middleweight, and heavyweight. Several Indian boxers secured their places in the finals through referee stoppages, highlighting the aggressive pace and confidence shown throughout the session.
