Lightweight Division Delivers Thrilling Action in U23 Evening Session in Jakarta

The U23 competition continued with an action-packed evening session at the Asian Boxing U19 & U23 Boxing Championships Jakarta 2026, where the men’s 55kg, 60kg and 70kg divisions took centre stage in another showcase of high-quality Olympic-style boxing.

The men’s lightweight (60kg) division dominated the session, producing a series of closely contested bouts alongside several commanding performances. Kazakhstan’s Nurassyl Tulebek, Kyrgyzstan’s Amantur Dzhumaev, Republic of Korea’s Donghyeon Lee, Thailand’s Thanaphansakon Kalaseeram and Uzbekistan’s Abdurakhmon Makhmudjonov all progressed with impressive victories. Saudi Arabia’s Yazan Alghamdi also advanced with a unanimous decision over Indonesia’s Mars de Volta, while Japan’s Koichi Nakayama booked his place in the next round following a third-round disqualification victory over India’s Sagar Jakhar.

In the bantamweight (55kg) division, Uzbekistan’s Faryozbek Dustmatov opened the evening with a convincing unanimous decision over the Philippines’ Eljay Pamisa. Saudi Arabia’s Muhannad Majrashi and India’s Ganga also advanced with confident performances.

The light middleweight (70kg) contests concluded the session in style. Qatar’s Mohammed Lassaad Dbichi secured one of the standout victories of the evening, stopping Kyrgyzstan’s Aibaz Orozbekov in the third round, while India’s Hitesh advanced with a unanimous decision over Chinese Taipei’s Jun-Zhang Lin.

With another full day of competition complete, the Asian Boxing U19 & U23 Boxing Championships Jakarta 2026 continue to showcase the next generation of elite Olympic-style boxers as athletes from across Asia pursue continental titles and valuable international experience.
