Quarterfinal Race Intensifies for U19 Women in Jakarta

The U19 women’s quarterfinals continued on Thursday evening at the Asian Boxing U19 & U23 Boxing Championships Jakarta 2026, with athletes competing across the 57kg, 60kg, 65kg, 70kg and 75kg divisions as the race for semifinal places and guaranteed medals gathered momentum.

The women’s 57kg division delivered four high-quality contests, with India’s Prachi, Kyrgyzstan’s Nurperi Makeshova, Kazakhstan’s Aknur Tursyngali and host nation Indonesia’s Dira Artika all advancing to the semifinals. Prachi impressed with a unanimous decision over Uzbekistan’s Robiya Ravshanova, while Dira Artika delighted the home crowd with a dominant victory over the Republic of Korea’s Yubeen Seo.

In the women’s 60kg division, India’s Chahat, Uzbekistan’s Sevara Mamatova and Japan’s Ayano Mochii secured their places in the next round with composed performances. Chahat recorded a unanimous decision victory over Kazakhstan’s Zhasmin Abramyan, while Mochii edged Kyrgyzstan’s Symbat Uraimzhanova in the closest contest of the division.

The women’s 65kg category featured the session’s only stoppage, as Uzbekistan’s Rushanabonu Isoeva advanced after a first-round Referee Stops Contest – Injury victory over India’s Vanshika. Chinese Taipei’s Yu-Tong Wong also progressed with a hard-fought victory against Thailand’s Premkamon Sukngulueam.

The evening concluded with the women’s 70kg and 75kg divisions. Republic of Korea’s Mina Jung, Uzbekistan’s Maftuna Yangieva and Mongolia’s Enkhgerel Gerelmunkh each booked semifinal places with convincing victories, while India’s Anshika completed the session by defeating Kazakhstan’s Altyngul Aimukhan in the women’s 75kg quarterfinal.
