U23 Men’s Quarterfinals Continue with Dominant Performances Across Five Weight Divisions

The U23 men’s quarterfinals continued on Friday evening at the Asian Boxing U19 & U23 Boxing Championships Jakarta 2026, with athletes contesting the 70kg, 75kg, 80kg, 85kg, 90kg and 90+kg divisions. The evening featured a mix of dominant victories, stoppages and closely contested bouts as boxers secured their places in the semifinals and guaranteed medals.

The men’s 70kg division opened the session with four entertaining contests. Qatar’s Mohammed Lassaad Dbichi advanced with a hard-fought victory over the Republic of Korea’s Gyubin Park, while Kazakhstan’s Nurbek Mursal, Uzbekistan’s Abdulloh Madaminov and India’s Hitesh also progressed. Hitesh delivered one of the session’s standout performances, recording a first-round Referee Stops Contest victory over Indonesia’s Radiyansyah.

In the men’s 75kg division, Kazakhstan’s Aman Konsbekov secured a third-round Referee Stops Contest victory over Japan’s Hibiki Kawabata. Uzbekistan’s Abdulaziz Abdulkhamidov and Kyrgyzstan’s Almaz Orozbekov also advanced with commanding unanimous decision victories.

The men’s 80kg quarterfinals saw Uzbekistan’s Fazliddin Erkinboev and Kyrgyzstan’s Sagyn Satybaldy Uulu book their places in the semifinals with impressive performances, while Uzbekistan’s Norbek Abdullaev progressed in the men’s 85kg division after Vietnam’s Gia Minh Nguyen was forced to retire in the third round. Kazakhstan’s Temirlan Mukatayev also advanced with a convincing victory over India’s Rockey Chaudhary.

The evening concluded with the heavyweight contests, where Uzbekistan’s Samir Sobirov claimed a unanimous decision over India’s Hemant Sangwan in the 90kg division, while the Republic of Korea’s Sangin Park defeated Thailand’s Patipat Aimporn. In the super heavyweight category, Kyrgyzstan’s Myrzakir Koshaliev advanced after the Republic of Korea’s Yooseung Shin retired in the second round.

With the U23 men’s quarterfinals now complete, the Asian Boxing U19 & U23 Boxing Championships Jakarta 2026 move into the semifinal stage, where athletes will compete for places in the continental finals and the opportunity to challenge for gold medals.
