Uzbekistan Dominates U19 as Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan Share U23 Honours on Final Day in Jakarta

The Asian Boxing U19 & U23 Boxing Championships Jakarta 2026 concluded on Thursday with an outstanding day of men’s finals, as Asia’s best young boxers battled for continental gold after two weeks of elite Olympic-style boxing.
In the U19 competition, Uzbekistan delivered a commanding performance by winning seven of the ten gold medals on offer, reaffirming its position as one of Asia’s leading boxing nations. Kazakhstan secured two gold medals, while the Republic of Korea claimed one title.
Uzbekistan’s U19 champions were Utkizbek Nozkosimov (47–50kg), Elyor Rustamov (55kg), Muhammadrizo Ukimov (60kg), Suhrob Rakhmatullaev (75kg), Abrorbek Sharipov (80kg), Sardorbek Bakhromkhujaev (85kg), and Asadbek Sultanboev (90kg). Kazakhstan celebrated victories through Bibarys Ashirbay (70kg) and Vladislav Samozhonov (90+kg), while Daeho Kang of the Republic of Korea captured the 65kg title.
The U23 men’s finals produced a highly competitive contest between Asia’s traditional boxing powers. Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan each claimed three gold medals, while India won two titles, Japan secured one, and Uzbekistan’s Abdulloh Madaminov added a fourth gold for his nation by winning the 70kg final.
India’s champions were Vishvanath Suresh (50kg) and Ganga (55kg). Japan’s Koichi Nakayama won the 60kg title. Uzbekistan’s gold medallists were Ilkhomjon Ergashev (65kg), Abdulloh Madaminov (70kg), Fazliddin Erkinboev (80kg), and Ozodbek Aliev (90+kg). Kazakhstan’s champions were Aman Konsbekov (75kg), Temirlan Mukatayev (85kg), and Ibragim Betaev (90kg).
Throughout the championships, the men’s competition showcased the remarkable depth of talent across the continent, with athletes demonstrating exceptional technical skill, determination and sportsmanship in every weight category.
The Asian Boxing U19 & U23 Boxing Championships Jakarta 2026 brought together 329 boxers from 20 National Federations, providing the next generation of Asian boxing talent with a valuable international platform as they continue their journey towards future continental, world and Olympic success.
