190 boxers from 33 NOCs ready for Asian Games boxing in Aichi-Nagoya

A total of 190 boxers representing 33 National Olympic Committees are ready to step into the ring as boxing competition at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games gets underway on Monday, 21 September.

The field features 115 men and 75 women competing across 11 weight categories, supported by 41 technical officials who will oversee the boxing competition throughout the Games.

Boxing will take place at Nishio Gymnasium, with competition running from 21 September to 2 October. The programme features six men’s and five women’s weight categories.

The men will compete at 55kg, 60kg, 70kg, 80kg, 90kg and +90kg, while the women will contest 51kg, 54kg, 60kg, 65kg and 75kg.

Day 1 will open with the Men’s 70kg category, with preliminary bouts taking place across both Session 1 and Session 2 as the boxing competition officially gets underway in Nishio.

Preliminary competition will continue through 28 September before the semi-finals take place across 29 and 30 September. Following a rest day on 1 October, all 11 champions will be crowned across two finals sessions on 2 October.

The Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games will bring together established champions, Olympians and a new generation of Asian boxing talent, with athletes representing 33 NOCs across the continent.

For Asian Boxing, the Games provide another major stage to showcase the strength and depth of Olympic-style boxing across Asia, from the continent’s established boxing nations to developing programmes continuing to make their presence felt internationally.

With 190 boxers, 41 technical officials and preparations complete, attention now turns to Nishio Gymnasium and 12 days of competition to determine Asia’s newest Asian Games boxing champions.
