Asian Boxing and World Boxing to Deliver First Certified Continental R&J Courses

Asian Boxing and World Boxing will deliver the first certified continental Referee and Judge courses during the upcoming Asian Boxing League, hosted by the Jordan Boxing Federation.

The initiative follows several months of meetings and coordination between Asian Boxing General Manager Bassam Ghanem and World Boxing Director of Sport Integrity David Llaurado, with the programme designed to strengthen the pathway and development of Referees and Judges in Asia and internationally.

Two Certified World Boxing Referee & Judge Courses will be conducted alongside the Asian Boxing League.

The first will provide a pathway for eligible National-level Referees and Judges from Asia to progress to Continental level.

A second course will be open to eligible National-level Referees and Judges from all continents, providing an opportunity to progress to Continental certification.

Registration for both courses will be conducted through the Xempower database, with further information regarding eligibility, registration and course schedules to be announced.

Asian Boxing General Manager Bassam Ghanem said the courses represent another important step in building stronger technical structures across the continent.

“The development of our Referees and Judges is fundamental to the continued development of boxing in Asia. Over the past several months, we have worked closely with World Boxing to create an opportunity that provides a clear pathway from National to Continental level. Delivering these courses during the Asian Boxing League will allow us to combine education, development and competition within the same environment.”

World Boxing Director of Sport Integrity David Llaurado said the courses will support the development of officials while promoting consistent standards across the sport.

“Education and consistent technical standards are essential as we continue developing Referees and Judges at every level. These certified courses will give National-level officials a structured opportunity to progress to Continental level while working within the World Boxing system. We look forward to working with Asian Boxing and the Jordan Boxing Federation to deliver the programme.”

The Jordan Boxing Federation will host the courses as part of the Asian Boxing League programme.
